Wacky Wednesday

If I could trade places with someone for one day, I would be Miss Moffat. I would switch places with Miss Moffat because she told us she has a library in her house, and I think that would be very neat. I would use to that library to read and write. Another reason I would switch places with Miss Moffat is because she travels a lot. She has traveled to Arabia, England, and many more. Another reason I would want to switch places with Miss Moffat is because she has a funny accent. I think it would be really cool to have an accent like hers. Lastly, I would switch places with Miss Moffat because she teaches about 100 kids every day. It would be so interesting to me to be able to teach kids, and see how it feels how Miss Moffat feels, and be in her shoes.

My Perfect Day

It would be a dream to have a perfect day, and this is how it would go. Starting in the morning, I wake up and I’m not tired at all. I get up and my outfit magically appears on me for the day. Super! I get ready and there are no mistakes in my routine. I go out and grab my backpack, and I teleport to school. Wow! I head to my first period class, art, and Mrs. Stegall- my art teacher- yells out, “SCHOOL’S OUT!!” Everyone jumps with joy and heads home. At lunchtime, I go to Chick-fil-A and order a chicken tender meal and a medium Diet Coke. The cashier then yells out, “EVERYTHING FREE!!” I celebrate and get my food to eat. After eating my delicious meal, I head home. Once I’m to my house, I see a brand new home! It’s beautiful and my bedroom is gorgeous! My bedroom has a big queen sized bed with white comforter with a grid pattern on it. There is a white blanket on the corner of the bed with new slippers on top. I slip off my shoes and get ready for bed, since time skipped and it’s already time for bed. I open my closet, and there’s a whole new perfect wardrobe. I gasp and pick out pajamas to wear. After getting my pajamas on, I notice there’s a new door on the wall of my room. I wonder what it leads to? I slowly open the door, and there lies a whole new master bathroom! I squeal and brush my teeth, and get ready for bed. As I slip into bed, I think to myself, “that was the best day ever!”

One Age Forever

If I could be one age forever, I would be twenty-three. I would be twenty-three because everything would be legal. I would have a drivers license and most likely be out of college. Although, I would have all the ages before that. I would have all those ages before twenty three because I would have all the experience from being younger, so I could still learn from my mistakes. I could also have the same job for a long time, because there wouldn’t be any retirement very early on. I would also be twenty-three because I could travel the world lots of times, because time would not pass for me. I could be there as long as possible, because I would never age and get tired of it. I would not want to get married or have kids in this situation, because they would age without me. I wouldn’t be able to have kids because I could be twenty-three and my child would be sixty-one. I would lose not want to be married because my spouse would be eighty-one while I’m still twenty-three. And that’s why I’d be twenty-three forever!

Taylor Swift Movie Concert

On October 13th 2023, I’m going to the Taylor Swift movie concert! I’m super excited for it. I’ve been making bracelets to trade with people at the concert since the start of September and I can’t wait! I’m watching it in Southern California, which is where I live. I am going to this movie concert with my best friend Stella and my friend Leah. Stella has her seats right next to mine, and Leah’s seats are farther down the row. I’m a huge fan of Taylor Swift, and know most her of songs by heart. My favorite song by her is “Back to December” from her Speak now album. I have listened to her since I was ten, and I’ve loved her music ever since. I love her songs and I’m so excited to go to the movie concert! I think everyone is probably going to be standing up, because the theater is going to be filled with people who love her music. Also, my seats are in the front row, so nobody will be in front of us standing up IF anyone is sitting down. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m so excited for this!

RAD READING – September

This month I read the book “Long Way Down” by Jason Reynolds. This story is about a teen named William (aka Will) who needs to find a way to cope with his brother’s murder. He remembers the rules his grandfather told his father, and his father told his older brother, which eventually leads down to himself and his decisions. The rules he abides by are…

  1. No crying.
  2. No snitching.
  3. Always seek revenge.

Stay put, I whispered to him. Stay strong, I whispered to me. Because crying is against the rules.” (Pg. 31)

After remembering the rules, Will takes action. He heads to the elevator of this apartment building to go and kill the man who killed his brother.
I love this story because it is dark and has twists in the plot. The plot is very unexpectedly horrifying and it would be an amazing book for anyone. This book would be amazing for you to try to read because there are many parts of the story you would not expect. You might expect one thing from a character, but the character will do the exact opposite of what you were thinking.
My favorite character is Shawn, (aka Wills dead brother). My favorite character is Shawn because he seems like a very nice brother and character overall, although Shawn seems very reckless. I think he is reckless because on page 40, Will states, “I won’t pretend that Shawn was the kind of guys who was home by curfew. The kind of guy who called and checked in about where he was, who he was with, and what he was doing.” This proves that Shawn was a reckless character before he died.
A quote from the story that was one of my favorites was “don’t nobody believe nothing these days.” I find this quote meaningful because it shows that a lot of people don’t believe anything that might be true.
