Week 6 20% Project – Scrapbooking

This week I finished up my scrapbook and more than doubled my goal! This week was amazing and was able to accomplish staying focused. This week was a great week and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I have no adjustments to make. This week I finished lots of pages. I also prepped for the 20% project night and make notecards. I ended up not needing them, but it gave me a way to memorize what to say. I don’t need to catch up on anything next time, because this week is the last week of the 20% project. Also, this week I adjusted the cover of my scrapbook. Some of the pieces on the cover of my scrapbook got ripped off, so I needed to reorganize and add more things. Hopefully next year I get Mr. Hollingshead as one of my teachers so I can have the 20% project all over again!

Middle School Memories

This year has been a blast, and here’s three examples. My first example is my friends in my core class. I have made the best of friends in this class and I would never trade them for the whole world. Those friends are Dev, Charlotte, Taylor, and Callie. They are definitely real friends. Another example of why this year has been a blast is of my teachers. My favorite teachers this year are Miss Moffat, Mrs Ehrhard and Ms. Cordero. Miss Moffat is my core (language arts and social studies) teacher, Mrs. Ehrhard is my PE teacher, and Ms. Cordero is my math teacher. usually PE, core, and math aren’t very fun, but they made those subjects my favorites! Last year I had Mrs. Ehrhard too, so hopefully I get her as my PE teacher next year! My last example of why this year was a blast is because of the Olympics in PE. The Olympics in PE is where you get placed in a countries team (I got Italy), and go against other countries. You play a series of sports and go against each other, and the winning team gets a prize at the end of the year. My team hasn’t won a lot of games, but hopefully our next game we’ll win! Those are my favorite memories from this school year!

My Mom

My mom is the most loyal woman in my life. She is loyal to me because if I tell her something personal, she will keep it to herself. She is also by my side for as long as we both live. I love her so much and this Mother’s Day we will have the best time. A memory with her that makes me smile is one time we were at Dave & Busters. We were playing air hockey and it was so fun! Of course my brother was whining the whole time because he didn’t get to play with us, but it was still so fun for my mom and I. My mom is also very kind. She is kind because every time someone bad or good happens to me, she is always there. Also, she is very sympathetic. Whenever I’m going through something, she gets what I’m going through and helps me figure out the problem. She already went through most of the stuff I’m going through now, so she knows how to solve the problem. She tells me what to do and not to do. My mom is also strong. She is strong because she takes care of my family and I every single day without a doubt. My mom is my #1 top favorite person ever and I could never ask for a different mom!

Week 5 – 20% Project – Scrapbooking

In the start of this class, I decided that this week my goal was to finish my trifold. This week my original goal was to finish more pages of my scrapbook, but instead I started my trifold. This week was amazing and I was able to accomplish about half of my trifold. A struggle I had was not being able to finish the trifold. When I originally started it, I messed up on the letters. I tried to fix it, but it made it worse. So, I covered it up with construction paper and restarted. This process took me a while. Because that went so badly, I will finish my trifold next week and do more pages of my scrapbook instead. Next week I will be working on my trifold and the last bits of my scrapbook. Also, next week I will be making my trifold look like a scrapbook. For example, I’ll put on scrapbooking pieces onto my trifold. Next week is the last week of the 20% project, so hopefully its successful!

RAD READING – April

This month I read “Love and Luck” by Jenna Evan’s Welch. This story is about a teen girl named Addie. Addie’s aunt is having her wedding in Ireland, and Addie is attending with her mom and three brothers. Throughout the book, Addie’s relationship with her brother’s best friend, Cubby, skyrockets. Although, Somehow all the problems Addie has with her brother leads to Cubby.

I like this book because of the drama and love that comes into it. Also, the series of this book is also amazing. Somehow, it all ties together. Addie, Lina, and Olive all know each other, which is a little mind twisting, since they are all from different books and stories. The twists and turn of this series will definitely get you hooked!

My favorite character from this novel is Addie, because she makes the novel entertaining. She also keeps me hooked on the book. One quote that shows that Addie makes this book entertaining is,

“Ian shot me a wide-eyed look that said, shut up NOW.

This quote shows that she makes the novel entertaining because she emphasizes what Ian said. The boldness of her character also hooks me in. A quote that shows that is,

“I glared back, our stares connecting.”

This quote shows Addie is bold, because her ‘glaring’ back at Ian emphasizes her daringness. Throughout the book, Addie has a sense of boldness. She does what she wants, when she wants it.

20% Project – Week 4- Scrapbooking

While working on my 20% project this week, I accomplished roughly around 4 pages. It was a great week this week, as well as last week too. A success I made this week was that I didn’t restart! The supplies I had this week were far better than last week, and hopefully I don’t restart next week, because I have better resources now. This week was an amazing week and I didn’t have any struggles at all compared to the weeks before. Since nothing really went wrong, I don’t have a lot of adjustments to make except for the fact that I need to be more organized and time productive. If next week goes as planned, maybe I will finish the whole scrapbook by the time we are done with our 20% project time, and before the presentation day. Also, I would like to work during passing period too! Passing period will give me 4 minutes to do work. I know it’s a little bit of time, but stuff can get done!

20% Project – Week 3 – Scrapbooking

While working on my 20% project this week, I restarted my scrapbook. It wasn’t going the way I wanted it to, so I just restarted everything. Luckily, I accomplished Finishing the same amount of pages that I restarted. This week was a great week and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I don’t have any adjustments to make. Although, I would like to be more organized when I do my scrapbook. I was very messy this week, and hopefully I can be more organized this next week. Next week I will be working on as many pages I can accomplish. I would want to make at least 2 or 3 more pages than I have now. My goal for next week is to keep the same look as it already has, and hopefully I don’t have to restart my scrapbook all over again like this week!

My Favorite Room

My favorite room in my home is my bedroom. A reason why my bedroom is my favorite room is because it’s always really clean and organized. Im usually not a very messy person when it comes to my room. The tidiness makes me feel like everything is perfect. Another reason is because it reminds me of summer. My bedroom reminds me of summer because my walls are painted white, my bed has white sheets, there’s volleyballs lined up above my closet, there’s a hanging macrame thing in front of my window, there’s a bikini rack on my wall, there’s beach bags everywhere, and I have vines on the wall over my bed. A last reason why my bedroom is my favorite room is because it makes me feel safe. I do everything in my bedroom. Whenever I do my homework, I do it in my bedroom. When I watch tv, I do it in my bedroom. I set my volleyballs against a wall in my bedroom, too. And when my friends come over, we always go in my room and do everything! Those are the reasons why my bedroom is my favorite room in my house!

Scrapbooking – 20% Project, Week 2

This week was amazing, and I was able to accomplish so much! My goal was to finish at least 2 pages and redo the cover, and it was a success! I finished 5 pages and the cover! This week was more than a success! The only struggle I had was the cover. The cover wasn’t the way I wanted it, so I re-did it. Now it looks way better and I’m more proud of it. My accomplishments were finishing way more pages than I needed to. I think that by the end of the 8 weeks (or however long we are doing this project) I will definitely finish my whole scrapbook! Any adjustments I would make to make this project go a lot faster would be thinking about what I’m going to do before I do anything. I left off on page 5. I definitely think that next week I will get a lot done!

Penny the Platypus

Once upon a time, there was a platypus named Penny. In her free time, she liked to play the guitar. One day, she was playing the guitar at a local coffee shop. While playing, a kind gentleman puts a $2 bill in Penny’s guitar case. All of the sudden, that “kind gentleman” runs up and steals her guitar! She screams and hollers, but nobody comes to help! So, she starts running after the thief all the way down the alley. Once they get to a dead end, Penny takes advantage! She jumps onto the thief and attacks him for the guitar back! Once she gets a hold of her guitar, she smashes it on the guys head! Little did she know, guitars are very fragile… Her guitar broke into pieces right when it came in contact with the thief’s skull. The thief runs away, while Penny sits there, trying to reform it back together. Obviously she wasn’t successful, since she didn’t have anything to fix it with. Penny holds her guitar in her arms, and walks home to put it away. Penny is in such a bad mood that once she gets home, she just throws all the broken pieces of her guitar through the casement! Once she does that, she realizes…. Oh no! Her guitar case with all her money in it! She sprints over to the coffee shop to grab the money. Phew… the money is still there! She’s just missing one thing… the $2 bill.
